Kasír

I was originally planning to do today's post on another artist but I changed my mind when I came across Kasír because although I often dislike contemporary Irish folk music, I love the way in which they combine the guitar with the accordion, whistles and the mandolin.

All I've been able to find out about Kasír is that they are a Danish trio, formed by Oisín Walsh (who plays the bodhrán - an Irish frame drum), Rune Cygan Barslund (who plays the accordion and whistles) and Aske Fuglsang Ruhe (who plays the guitar, mandolin and octave mandolin).

If you'd like to listen to more samples of their music, here are the links to their mp3 albums on Amazon: Reel Irish and Chilling on a Sunday.
